Task Eleven- Script
Our Opening Sequence does not include any spoken dialogue between actors. We are purely having a variety of shots paired with a soundtrack (Bon Iver- Woods). We decided to do this as we feel no speech but purely shots would build suspense as not much would be given away so the audience will want to know what happens next. Alongside the shots there will be opening credits of actors names etc.
Scene 1: Detective coming out of car
- The Opening Sequence will start with a low angle shot of the detective opening the car door and getting out of the car (Elena). Detective then walks up pathway to front door & knocks. That will be a tracking shot following her as she walks. As the detective knocks on the door we will do a close up on her hand as she knocks. The mother & father of the dead teenage girl will open the door and let the detective in.
Scene 2: Detective walking through house to the back garden. As she walks through she stops and stares at a framed photograph of the teenage girl when she was a little girl, then carries on walking through. When the shot of the framed photograph is shown a credit will appear on screen (Meg's name).
Scene 3: Detective opens back door and a establishing shot and over-the-shoulder shot is shown of the garden, you can see the back garage in view (where the party was held). Detective walks up pathway to the garage and opens door. Clear establishing shot of the inside garage, shows the trashed room containing alcohol bottles, empty pizza box, balloons etc to portray where the party took place. In view is also one of the forensics taking swabs next to the dead teenage girl Megan.
Scene 4: The camera shots will now focus more on the two forensics (Ellie & Melody). One will be taking swabs of the party room and packing a variety of objects in plastic bags. The other will be taking photographs. Every-time a photograph is taken a flash back of the party is then shown with a heartbeat sound effect playing. The flashbacks will consist of the drugs being bought, shots of laughing gas, drinking, smoking etc.
Scene 5: There is a flashback of the alley of the girl at the party buying the drugs off the dealer. A close up shot is shown in one of the flash backs of the girls mouth, swallowing the pill.
Scene 6: After the simultaneous quick shots of flashbacks the final still shot shows the dead teenage girl laying there, with her eyes still open. A zoom in shot shows one of the forensics leaning down and a close up shot of the forensic closing the girls eyes. The title of the film then appears and that is how it ends.
